The importance of polka dots in public places

Is it just me or is there a profusion of polka dots in the world lately?

 Detroit artist Tyree Guyton started painting polka dots on abandoned houses years ago.

This link is also about street crossing and features polka dots, and it’s totally worth two minutes of your life.
